Wildlife Conservation Club

Do you dream about working with and protecting wildlife? Experience life as a field biologist, wildlife conservationist, and more. Meet experts in these fields and participate in hands-on conservation work both here at the Zoo and in the field. We will join a State Park Ranger to restore a prairie habitat, help naturalist remove invasive species, and work with a local community to clean-up their neighborhoods and parks.

Join the club and begin to see all that is involved in saving wildlife and habitat for our future.

Age: 8th–12th grade

Cost:
$400 (includes all materials, transportation and offsite activity fees)

Meeting Dates:
3rd Saturday of each month (excluding December)
2011: September 17, October 15 and November 19.
2012: January 21, February 18, March 17, April 21 and May 19.
Summer plans will be determined by the group in the fall.

Time: 9 a.m.-3 p.m. during school year (dates and time may vary according to activity)

Application: The Wildlife Conservation Club will only accept a maximum of 10 members. Applicants are selected based on a panel review of applicants’ answers to the following two essay questions. Why would you like to participate in the Wildlife Conservation Club at the Minnesota Zoo?

Discuss the role that zoos play in the conservation of endangered species.
